Debbie Berins is a seasoned public relations and marketing communications professional with nearly 20 years of experience working as a member of agency and in-house teams. While she gained a wealth of knowledge working with clients across several industries, she found a niche in the health and wellness and nonprofit communities.
After leading successful campaigns while working for others, Debbie fulfilled her dream to open her own communications consultancy focused on organizations that make a difference, using her experience and expertise to ensure these organizations grow and thrive. She has a passion for effective communications and prides herself on building strong relationships with clients, understanding their overall needs and delivering results that help organizations achieve their goals and tell their stories—those that educate, generate awareness, create emotion, change opinions, raise money, motivate and touch lives.
Throughout her career, Debbie has managed public relations, communications and outreach activities locally, regionally and nationally. She has covered a broad range of topics including, child protection policies during the Texas Legislative Session, major issues in the child welfare system, postsecondary education awareness and readiness for underserved students, both women’s and children's health initiatives, and other special events, causes and campaigns. In addition, she has been responsible for developing and implementing crisis communications plans, and directing high-profile individuals in skillfully handling the press and other entities in a crisis.
Debbie has conceptualized, written and produced a range of marketing communications pieces, including annual reports, brochures, speeches, opinion editorials, presentations and brand standards, among others. She is also proficient in event planning and management, seamlessly producing small receptions to three-day conferences, contributing creative theme development to talent management to run of show.
She earned a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in marketing from Tulane University's A.B. Freeman School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in radio/television/film from The University of Texas at Austin.
